I'm Illiterate... illiterate that is. I just have no idea how to do anything but the basics, and it's sooo frustrating!
So, does anyone want to write a step-by-step instruction manual on how to put pretty pictures in my sidebar? The whole html thing is such a mystery to me - it all looks like gobbledegook as far as I'm concerned. I mean, how do you write html for a picture? Is it even possible?
I'd love a nice template too :)
Help me...please???

I am not sure about pics on the sidebar, but if you put a picture in a post, just click on EDIT HTML on the top of the post and you will see the HTML code--it is pretty simple. You can cut and paste it where you want it.

Best of luck!

Ohh Flossy, when you find out please let us all know. I too would love to have pictures in places other than my posts, but still can't work out how, despite setting up a test blog where I play. Ahh the frustrations of cyperland.
PS Thanks for the post with the laundry powder. I'm going to make up some soon and try it. Did you find that you needed to dissolve the powder before putting it into the machine or just put it straight in? I'm just worried that I'll have bits of soap all over my clothes.

Lovely blog, keep up the good work, I'm checking in daily.

Well flossy ~ I've been using blogger for about 6 months and still am trying to figure it out. I certainly do not have the blog that I'd like to have.

A few things that I have learnt are:
Different templates are set up differently;
Templates are mainly written up as CSS and a combination of HTML;
There are a few helpful links on the blogger dashboard, under Blogger Help;
Also try Google for help.

Good really is a case of trial and's been very frustrating for me.

Flossy would you not consider moving to Typepad? There the sidebars are created with easy peasy typelists, no html required. I am the most computer illiterate person I know but I can manage this on Typepad. It's free for 30 days then $4.00 thereafter and it really is a whole lot easier than blogger. Have a look at the Chronicles: each section is created using its own different typelist and it is just like creating a post...
P.S: I'm about to start a new blog called "Blogging For Girls" to help everybody with these kind of troubles...

Flossy, I am no expert on this kind of stuff but I do find it easy to put pictures in my sidebar. they have to be quite small and you need somewhere that you can store them and get an address for them to insert. if you need some help just email me and I will see what I can do.
