Flaaahwers...

I, like many people, am very enamoured of roses - I have plenty in my garden to prove it.

But...there is something about gerberas that lifts my spirits and makes me smile. I think they may be my favourite flower, if I had to pick just one. What is your favourite flower - you know, the one that makes your spirit sing?

Oh hyacinths everytime. If only for the scent. Forget big bouquets of this and that: buy me a hyacinth and I will love you forever...

I am not even going to go there! way too hard a question. I love daphne, luculia, foxgloves & hollyhocks, old fashioned pinks & lavender. Gardenias are a favourite in summer time & I love old fashioned roses - perfumed ones cause otherwise what is the point? the list goes on...

but Suzy - gerberas were my dad's favourite and he use to grow them all along his driveway - they like crushed eggshells by the way

Ah, yes, gerberas are always my flowers of choice when sending a 'cheer you up' bunch to a friend.

But my personal favourites are tulips. They're beautiful. Give me tulips and I'm in heaven!

Definitely too difficult to pick one favourite. Some that I love for subtle perfumes are petunias, stocks, wallflowers, sweet peas, pansies, even marigolds although not so subtle. Who can forget lavender?

But I still love a thriving, healthy plant of Alyssum, especially the white one, on a hot summer's day. Soooo cooling.

If ShellyC doesn't put a comment on here about gerberas then I'll do it later.

The gerberas are so happy looking!!! My favorite flower would have to be a rose! I have a sweet smelling "Cecil Brunner" rose, its a climber in the gazebo in our backyard, when its blooming the fragrance is wonderfully heady!!

Thanks for stopping by, Flossy. You cheered my spirits!
Fave flower?? That is a tough one. I have many favorites...for different reasons. But I do love cosmos because they stay around a long time in the garden. I love the pinks for the same reason. The pansies are another one...but you are right about the gerberas. Nothing beats a gerbera to brighten things up!

I adore lilies. Any type really, but especially the big showy ones like the stargazers. I love everything about them, the smell, the colors, the shape. There is just something so perfect about them.

OOoh tough choice. I guess I'd have to say pink roses but I'm pretty impressed by anything that's clever enough to give off scent. Love gardenias; love daffodils and other things that pop their heads up once a year; sweetpeas for the childhood memories they evoke; lavender; freesias; geraniums for the touch of European courtyard they bring to my home; hotpink gerberas; even lisianthus !!! Gosh ... love flowers. Full stop.

Eeek how do I choose. I would say roses as a first. Especially those stunning old world ones that are purplish red, rather than just bright red. They have a stunning scent too - why else would you grow them. Pansies also have to be there as well as violets. Ahh the list could go on forever. Thank you for making us think about the flowers we love - the thought of them just brightens my day.

Hugs

Tigerlilys have always been my absolute favourite.

Frangipanis are gorgeous as well. Simple, stunning with a fragrance to match.
