Let me see, what has happened since we last spoke?

Well, I am now the proud owner of an exercise bike, which I (and the girls too) are riding away into the sunset on :)
I find that "interval training" is the most effective way to go - that means riding like a madwoman for 12 seconds, then recovering for 8 seconds etc etc. It is a good cardio workout, and less time on the bike. We have set the downstairs room up as a gym, with the rebounder, skipping rope and aTV and DVD for those exercise programmes I am going to get!

In the meantime, I have got myself a job doing nightfill (stacking shelves) at the local supermarket - I am also waiting to hear about another job - it's a temp office job for 5 months. Hopefully I will get that one too and I can save some money to do some studying.

My plan is to eventually (haven't worked out timing yet) relocate to Tasmania.
I have had enough of the heat and drought here in Queensland, and all my research shows Tassie to be the kind of place I will really enjoy living in.
A slower lifestyle, less people, fantastic food!!

So very little has been happening here that it is hard to find something to blog about!

Now that netball season is over for a little while, life has become very peaceful. The girls and I are still adjusting to not having training to get to.

I am looking for a treadmill at the moment. My sister is getting married in a week and yesterday I went shopping for something to wear.

OMG! I didn't realise how much weight I had put on this past year.

Not having a full length mirror in the house, I truly had no idea. It was only when I tried a dress on that I got a real good look - and I did not like what I saw.

So instead of spending a small fortune on a piece of clothing, I am going to spend a bigger fortune on something more helpful to me.

Wish me luck.

Yep, that's right, the girls won their Grand Final on Friday night!

The game was a bit of a nail biter, but they got there in the end and that is what counts.

Last night was the end of season dinner for all the rep teams and parents. All the presentations were made and then we danced the night away.

Today I have a very sore throat and very sore feet!

Miss*Gabbie, Miss*Brooklyn and myself snuck in through the door at 2am... and consequently slept half the day away!

Now that I'm up and about I had better get on and catch up with the laundry...

It has been a quiet week here so far. Nice.

I have finally put myself onto a healthy eating kick and even did a little (a very little) exercise.

You see, I quit the dreaded cigarettes over a year ago, but I took up eating instead, and the food of choice wasn't exactly good!

As you can well imagine, the combination of a slowed metabolism, lots of fatty food and no exercise didn't do me any favours...
I'm not sure how much weight I have put on as I refuse to have scales in the house, but I do know that I have gained about 2 dress sizes!

I don't look as bad as some that I have seen, but I just FEEL so yuk. So I have finally gotten motivated to do something about it. I hate feeling fat and lethargic, and I loathe looking at myself in the mirror at the moment.

My weaknesses are potato chips and bread, so I am on a mission to cut out the chips altogether, and minimise the bread intake.

More fruit! More veges! More moving!

This morning has dawned bright and clear for the local show that is on this weekend. After a very grey week, nature has come up with a spectaclar day for the kids to have some fun!

Miss*Gabbie and I turned home from netball very late last night - but the girls were victorious! Next week they are in the Grand Final.

My goodness they have had such a big year. To start with, every Friday night since April 17 we have driven 45 minutes to the State Netball Centre. They have played some hard games to get where they are, believe me!
On top of that, in June they went to State Age Championships (around 185 teams on average) - they went through their division (2) undefeated and took home the trophy.
At the end of July we travelled to Bundaberg - around 5 hours away - for Country Carnival. For the first time in 5 years, our girls made division 1 - a huge achievement. Unfortunately, they didn't place, but they played their hearts out that weekend!

This squad of 10 young girls from a little town outside of Brisbane, have made Netball Queensland sit up and take notice this year. All their hard work, blood, sweat and tears (literally!) has paid off.

I couldn't be prouder of all of them.

Well it's a grey old day here today - just the way I like it! A perfect day for baking I think.

I also have to run a couple of errands which unfortunately can't wait. Pity as it's a good day to stay in and putter. But my eldest daughter has run out of strapping tape and is playing a must win match tomorrow night (to make Grand Final), and if she rolls an ankle I will not be a popular Mum!

Her team is playing in a competition in Brisbane called State League - it's 2 levels down from the Firebirds, Pheonix and Swifts etc, so we are very proud of them for doing so well in their first year at this level. The worst they can do is 3rd. Well done girls!
And only 2 more weeks to go and I can have both my Friday nights and Saturday mornings to myself again! Yippee!!

Not a great deal more happening in this household at the moment, but I'd best get on with the chores.

Talk soon...

The Prodigal Returns...

My goodness.
It feels a little strange to be back - in a good way.

I don't really expect that anyone will come to visit for a while, it has been 7 months since I have been here.

I won't play catch up, I'd rather start afresh with all things current, if that's ok with you...

But not right now. No, for now I will simply pop my head in the door to say hello, and let you know that I am looking forward to chatting with you soon.
